Year 6 have worked with Mrs Carey looking at the artist Andy Goldsworthy. They also produced some art using his style and the types of materials he uses.
In English Year 4 have been looking at film and play scripts and have been inspired by ‘The Piano’ and these are our versions of it. We hope you enjoy watching them as much as we have enjoyed making them.
On Monday 13th June we went on our school trip. We went on a double decker coach to Stockley Farm. It rained all the way there, but as soon as we got there the rain stopped. We planted some grass seeds for the rabbits, stroked the rabbits, looked at the pigs, cows and horses and brushed the pony. We had a really fantastic time and enjoyed ourselves.
The children were very excited when they knew they would be keeping fit with Freddy Fit. We went in the hall and did some dance warm ups, which was lots of fun. We had a go at hula hooping to see who could hula hoop the longest. None of the teachers were very good at this!!!!!! The children were super.
On Wednesday 22nd June we visited the seaside at Lytham St. Annes. We visited the RSPB Fairhaven Lake. We walked to the beach and we had great fun running down the sand dunes. We worked together to build sandcastles and it was really fun. At lunchtime we had a picnic and the best part of lunch was that we got to have an ice-cream. After that we went on a mini-beast hunt and then we returned back to school. We had a fantastic time and we all want to go again!
On Tuesday 21st June Freehold came to Thorp and we really enjoyed spending time with our pen pals. We did Zumba with Sharon and we played some games like musical hoops and noughts and crosses. At lunchtime we had a picnic outside sat under a tree and we also went on the Trim Trail. During lunchtime we played with all of the equipment like bats and balls and hula hoops. After lunch we had two special visitors, a Priest and an Imam and they came to talk to us about the similarities between Christianity and Islam.
What a fantastic time we all had!
