Snow White and the Seven Dwarves

Our story and focus this week has been Snow White and the 7 Dwarfs. We have read the story, talked about the different characters and used exciting words to describe the woods. We thought of words such as scary, dark, gloomy, ghostly, windy, muddy, cold, spooky, squelchy. Mrs Grayson was very impressed with the children’s language skills.

In maths this week, we have been looking at length. First we ordered the plastic worms and found the shortest and longest ones. Then some children went round the classroom looking for objects that were longer and shorter than a ruler and we recorded it. Some children found strips and had to see if they were longer or shorter than one stuck in their books.

On Fridaywe were very lucky to have an extra PE slot. Miss Heslop looked at gymnastic shapes with us and we made a straight, tuck, butterfly and pike shape. Ask your children to show you at home. We also did some dancing and freezing in a space. Mrs Grayson liked the dancing best!

  1. Thanks Emily, reception were very good at thinking of lots of adjectives.
Alfie, we had lots of fun, the children were very good with their gymnastic shapes, but Mrs Grayson wasn’t very good!
