In science we have been learning about pitch and volume. We had great fun using straws to investigate this.

Christmas Fair
Year 3 have made amazing chocolates in a bag and a homemade painted candle holder to sell for our business enterprise at the Christmas fair. It is a competition between all the classes to see who will make the most money. The candle holders and the chocolates both cost £1. The candles will light up your house. The chocolates can be hung on the tree and you can eat them. Please come to Thorp’s Christmas fair on Saturday 2nd December at 10am.
First News
We love reading the weekly First News newspaper!
One of the reason they want to read First News is because ‘the pictures are attractive and the articles are interesting.’
An article recently enjoyed was ‘England Glory’ because they like reading about sport.
The comprehension activities that accompany the magazine are challenging and really make us think.
World War 2 Assembly
In assembly on Thursday 9th November 2017, we did a World War 2 dance. Our favourite part was the Anderson Shelters part when everyone got into the shapes of an Anderson Shelter. We learnt it in P.E with Miss Rigg and everyone really enjoyed it.
