We are all loving reading books in our new ‘Jurassic themed’ reading corner.
This half term the woodwind group performed in assembly.
During ‘British Science Week’ Reception read Mr Archimedes’ Bath. We all had lots of ideas as to why the level of the water went up and down. We had a go at adding animals to a bath to watch the water rise and overflow. We then had two cups of water and added marbles to one and cotton wool to another. We were amazed with what happened!
We have been investigating whether gases weigh anything. We did two experiments. We weighed a bottle of lemonade and we kept shaking it and releasing some carbon dioxide and then we weighed the bottle again and it weighed less than it did at the start. We also weighed a balloon and then we inflated another balloon and weighed that and it weighed slightly more. We have found out that gases do weigh something and we had a lot of fun finding that out.
