Down’s Syndrome Awareness

On Friday 19th March Year 5 ‘rocked our socks’ to raise awareness about Down’s Syndrome.  The brightly coloured socks signify the extra chromosome (chromosome 21) which people with Down Syndrome usually carry.  As chromosomes look like socks this is why we have the connection.

Relax Kids

Today Year 6 participated in their first Relax Kids session.  We focused on the seven steps of relaxation which are: move, play, stretch, feel, breathe, believe and relax.  After the sessions we all felt very relaxed and positive.

Self-portraits

Nursery children have been drawing self-portraits this week. The children looked in a mirror to see what colour their skin, eyes and hair colour was. We talked about how we are all different and we are all special.
