Thorp Primary School

Home Communication

At Thorp, we use several communication platforms to keep our families well‑informed and connected with school life. Our main methods are Class Dojo and Tapestry.

  • Class Dojo is used across the school to share key dates, reminders, classroom updates, celebrations, and whole‑school news.
  • Tapestry is used in Early Years to share learning observations, photographs, messages, and important information directly from the classroom.

If you need help accessing your child’s page on either platform, please speak to their class teacher or contact the school office, who will be happy to support you.

In addition to this, we send out a weekly newsletter via email to all parents and carers. Each newsletter includes that week’s Good Work Award winners, the Golden Table children, information about trips and experiences that have taken place, and any important updates or reminders. This helps families stay connected with what is happening in school and celebrates the achievements of our children.

This half term, we have also welcomed Georgia from the Manchester Foundation Trust Charity, who works closely with the Royal Manchester Children’s Hospital. Georgia spoke to the children about the important work the charity does, how it helps poorly people, and how our fundraising can make a real difference. She will return to Thorp next half term to thank the children for the money raised through our Easter fundraiser.
