Welcome to Year 2

Our class teacher for the 2023/24 academic year is Miss Watts. Our teaching assistant is Mrs Walsh.

In Year 2, we cover many exciting topics to enhance children’s knowledge and understanding in-line with The National Curriculum 2014. British Values also underpin our curriculum.

Our key topic areas this year are:

Autumn Term 1: What Does It Take To Be An Intrepid Explorer? 

Autumn Term 2: What Lit London In 1666? 

Spring 1: Where should we take our UK staycation?

Spring 2: What do we know about the Victorians and the way they lived? 

Summer 1: What is it like to live in Royton?

Summer 2: How does Royton compare to Kenya? 

P.E.

We will have our PE lessons on a Friday and it is essential that children remember to bring their PE kit in on a weekly basis.

Homework

Homework will be given out on a Friday and needs to be returned to school by the following Tuesday. Homework will include: English, Maths, Spellings, Reading and Times Tables Rock Stars.
