Thorp Primary School

Year 2

Welcome to Year 2

Our class teacher for the 2022/23 academic year is Mr Gooding. Our teaching assistant is Miss Marland.

In Year 2, we cover many exciting topics to enhance children’s knowledge and understanding in-line with The National Curriculum 2014. British Values also underpin our curriculum.

Our key topic areas this year are:

Autumn Term 1 – What Does It Take To Be An Intrepid Explorer? –

Autumn Term 2 – What Lit London In 1666?

Spring Term 1 – Where Should We Take Our UK Staycation?

Spring Term 2 - How did the Victorian period change the way people in Oldham lived?

Summer Term 1 – What is it like to live in Royton?

Summer Term 2 – Would you rather live in Royton (England) or Kenya?

P.E.

We will have our PE lessons on a Friday and it is essential that children remember to bring their PE kit in on a weekly basis.
