Thorp Primary School

Year 4

Welcome to Year 4

Our class teacher for the 2022/23 academic year is Mrs Pollitt.  Our teaching assistant is Miss Marland.

In Year Four, we cover many exciting topics to enhance children’s knowledge and understanding in-line with The National Curriculum 2014.  British Values also underpin our curriculum.

Our key topic areas this year are:

Autumn Term 1 – How much do you know about European Countries

Autumn Term 2 - How can we recreate the wonder of Ancient Egypt?

Spring Term 1 – Where will a road trip around England take me?

Spring Term 2 - Why are most of the world’s cities located by rivers?

Summer Term 1 – Who were the Romans and what did we learn from them?

Summer Term 2- Why did all of the cotton mills disappear from Royton?

P.E.

We will have our PE lessons on a Monday and it is essential that children remember to bring their PE kit in on a weekly basis.
