Year 1 Welcome to Year 1

Our class teacher for the 2023/24 are Miss Procter and Mr Muzyka.

In year 1, we will cover exciting topics to enhance the children’s knowledge and understanding, in-line with The National Curriculum 2014. British Values also underpin our curriculum.

Our key topic areas this year are:

Autumn 1: What is it like here?

Autumn 2 : Who were Florence Nightingale and Mary Seacole and why do we still talk about them today?

Spring 1: What is the weather like in the uk?

Spring 2: How has my high street changed since the 1950’s?

Summer 1: What is it like to live in Shangai?

Summer 2: How was school different in the past?

PE

We have PE on Monday. Please remember to bring your PE kit every week.

Homework

Homework will be given out on a Friday and needs to be completed by the following Tuesday. Homework will include: English, Maths, Spellings, Reading and Times Table Rock Stars.
