Welcome to Year 1

Our class teacher for the 2025/26 is Mr Muzyka. Our teaching assistant is Mrs Walsh.

In year 1, we will cover exciting topics to enhance the children’s knowledge and understanding, in-line with The National Curriculum 2014. British Values also underpin our curriculum.

Our key topic areas this year are:

Autumn 2 : How did we learn to fly?

Spring 1: What is the weather like in the UK?

Spring 2: What is it like here?

Summer 1: How have toys changed?

Summer 2: What is it like to live in Shanghai?

PE

We have PE on Thursday. Please remember to bring your PE kit every week.

Autumn Term: Outdoor PE kit required.

Spring 1: Indoor PE Kit required.

Spring 2: Outdoor PE Kit required.

Summer 1: Outdoor PE Kit required.

Summer 2: Outdoor and Indoor PE kit required.

Homework

Homework will be sent home at the start of each half term. It includes nine fun and varied activities covering subjects: English, Maths, Science, and other areas of the curriculum. Homework should be completed and returned every Friday so that we can share it with the class.
